Very Worshipful Brother Jim Kendall DDGM District No. 12

Career:  21 years (ok, 20 years, 10.5 months) active duty USN. Enlisted in the USN in May of 1965, reported for duty in August of 1965. Retired from USN in June 1986 as LCDR. Career assignments ranged from Mess Cook on USS Currituck (AV7), to leading Sonar Technician on USS Pledge (MSO 492), to Strategic Weapons Officer on USS Sam Houston (SSBN 609), to Officer in Charge of the Atlantic Undersea Test & Evaluation Center in West Palm Beach Florida and Andros Island the Bahamas. Graduate of the SUBPAC PCO course. Two tours as instructor at the Trident Training Facility at Bangor WA. Earned BSEE from University of New Mexico. (Go ahead and laugh, but many of my professors were scientists at the Sandia Army Labs!). Course work on MS in Systems Management. Post USN: District Office Manager for 1990 Decennial Census, responsible for census of the 7 Western-most Counties of Washington State. Currently Operations/General Manager for two technology firms in Kitsap County.

Masonic Lodges:  William H. Upton Naval & Military Lodge #206. Last WM of Charleston Lodge #269. At the end of the Masonic Year, worked toward the merger of the two Lodges. Currently Secretary of William H. Upton Naval & Military Lodge #206. (5 yrs)

Grand Lodge Activities:  Member of Education and Training Committee (1 yr) Member of Information Technology/Technology Committee (4 yrs.) Co-Chairman/Chairman of the Technology Committee (4 yrs.) DDGM 2011-2012.

Other Masonic Organizations:  Life Member York Rite Bodies, Bremerton, WA. Member of Nile Temple, Ancient Arabic Order of the Mystic Shrine for North America.

Community Organizations:  Founding member Silverdale Sunrise Rotary Club. (No longer a member) Board Member of the Bremerton Symphony Association, including one term as President. (5 yrs) Founding member and Past President Washington Association of Internet Service Providers. Life Member American Legion Post 99, Seaside Oregon. Life Member MOAA (Formerly TROA) Member South Kitsap Amateur Radio Club (General Class license) ARRL Volunteer Examiner (VE) Life Member NRA Life Member Kitsap Rifle and Revolver Club. Suffers from a near terminal case of Join-itis.
